Great set up Paul. In my opinion its just what the club needs and about time too! So a big thank you from me
My suggestion is to now close the safwaa site on strike and hook. I dont think we need two, it just causes confusion. We all heard last night how thinks can go wrong with lack of proper communication
I'm all for keeping links with Strike and hook as I think its a great site but that can be done through the general forum and under the club section. My thought is the group site should be closed with a link directing members across to here
Whats everyone else's thoughts on this?

Well our first member post :D welcome mate Im glad the site is up and running also feels the right thing to do in my eyes also we are a long established club we need history and let it be on our own forum.I also agree confusion will be less likely and the availability to post images now as i have upgraded my server again  should make it a enjoyable site for all.

Browns Beach 3/4/5th June

Postby jagger » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:14 pm

For anyone that missed out last year, highly recommend attending this time around.

Graham and Stuart will be looking at the accommodation available in Innes National Park with others camping out again at Browns camp ground.

I will be hitting the road nice and early Friday again (or thursday night) to obtain the same spot as last year and hopefully the fishing gods will bestow me with the same session on the friday (best of the trip) and anyone who cares to join me down there.

This year I will be taking my 4.2 x 4.2m shelter so the rain shouldn't be an issue and I know Rick has something similar so the cook ups should be worth hanging around for. I will be taking a portable open flame grill and no doubt others will be bringing portable barbies as well. The Camp fire antics helped make the trip last year...still some video footage getting around I think =))

No real format to the salmon chasing but if this years anything like last they bit their tails off before the sun came up even on soft plastics. Night sessions are always worth a shot and generally the size was around 2-2.5kg, great fun on the bream gear!!!

For anyone thinking of attending, waders are a must!! fitness and health is something to be considered however there are plenty of other beaches and coves within minutes that hold great fish. We had a top little session at Cable bay last time where mullet, ST's and tommies are thick.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible.
Only found out at last nights exec meeting this used to be a regular thing so great to kick it up again. Be good to see some of the old boys out there showing the youngens how to do it.

If we feel the need to run any format of a comp then please discuss here

Passing on an email from Graham Cowling

Hi Paul
Could you please put this weekend on safwaa.org, we have 10 or so people interested so far. If anyone wishes to findout more they can call me on 0488349933 or they can email. Some people are camping at one of the many camping sites in the Loch Luna national park which probably suggests that those people will be cooking tea on saturday night on the camp fire, while others will be staying in comfort at the Cobdogla caravan park, have tea at the Cobdogla Hotel on Saturday evening then we can arrange a late check out on Sunday and have hot showers etc before driving home.
The idea of the weekend is to get people up there with boats, canoes, rafts, float tubes or even fish from the bank, there are some big Carp there but as usual the big one is just out of reach. (not this time) It could also be a good weekend any newcomers that wish to learn and or meet other members. I have also heard that the Yabbies are in big numbers for those who wish to have a try of a cooked Yabbie or 3.

Thanks Graham c
